This is the UK's first truly wireless two piece helmet camera system.

Unlike other "wireless" helmet cameras this one has it's own separate recording device. The camera transmits video and audio to the recorder where it is saved on to SDHC memory cards up to 32gb in size. A 32gb card will hold over 25 hours of footage at full quality.

The advantage of this system over others like the ATC range is that you can see what you are shooting on the wireless recorder in real time...but without cables! Video quality is the same as the ATC cameras which makes this really good value for money.

Because the recorder part is external the camera head can be a lot smaller and easier to mount or wear. This camera is small enough to fit our vented cycle mounts and goggle mounts designed for bullet cameras.

Several mounting options are supplied with the kit including a handle bar/seat post mount, a rubber strap helmet mount and a roll bar mount for the recorder part.

Transmission range is about 12ft. The colour camera has a built-in microphone and like all other camera systems in this price range it works best in medium to good lighting.

This wireless helmet camera kit is really easy to use. Both the camera and the recorder can be charged from USB and the kit is supplied with a UK mains USB charger. Recording is started at the touch of a button and replaying the video can be viewed on it's built-in LCD screen, your TV or on a computer (no software required). Batteries in the camera last about 2 hours and take just 40 mins to recharge. Car chargers and portable battery pack chargers are available as optional extras.

The camera part of this kit is waterproof to 3m of water. The recorder part needs to be protected from getting wet.

Our verdict:
This is a unique bit of kit and really good fun to use.
As easy to use as an ATC camera without cables but with the added advantage of a smaller camera head and separate solid state digital video recorder.

Since this product went to market we have discovered that the AT-1 can be used as an MP3 player, a photo viewer and an ebook reader. You can use the supplied A/V cables to record from a DVD player or TV/Sat programs.

You can connect any of our bullet cameras to this recorder to get even better quality video from it although you will have to use an external battery pack to power the bullet camera. The camera can be permanently powered from a USB source such as the battery pack below or our 12v USB converter cable.

A fantastically well engineered camera mount. Ideal for mounting a camera to just about any vented helmet. Perfect for mtb's this strong velcro mount will ensure you don't part with your camera.

Right angled Double Hook and Loop Mount

Much like the double hook and loop mount but with a 90° twist.
This is a great mount for handlebars, glider struts and any other bar under 1 1-2" in circumference. This works well for mounting the camera to a seat post for a rear facing shot.

Neoprene Armband for AT-1

You can now wear your AT-1 digital video recorder on your arm like an IPOD! Comes with a long arm strap for use over ski jackets down to cycling tops. Has a clear protective screen so you can see the LCD and operate the device.

Portable battery (charger)

This 6000mah battery pack can be used to charge the AT-1 wireless helmet camera head and also the recorder part. Holds enough power to charge the camera head about 6 times. A full charge takes about 30 mins to complete.

Car Charger Kit

Use this to charge either the wireless helmet camera head or it's wireless receiver from your car's accessory socket.

AT-1 NEW Firmware update. 7-07-2009

This update adds the facility to remove the time/date stamp.

Make sure the AT-1 is fully charged.
Download this file UPDATE and extract it to a blank SD card.
Insert the SD Card in to the AT-1 and turn it on.
Make sure SD Card is selected under the storage menu.
Scroll down to "update" and select it. Update takes about 2 mins and the unit will shut down after the update is completed.

To use the key lock feature: Press and hold the "down" button. A picture of a key will show in the lower left hand corner of the screen.
