A brief explanation of terms relating to this hardware.

Motion JPEG: M-JPEG is a compression technique using intra frame technology. Each frame or field is individually compressed as a jpeg rather than using inter frame prediction. Mpeg video compression looks at the difference between 2 frames to compress the content and so high motion video generally suffers the most at lower bit rates. Video files encoded by mjpeg allow for very precise editing as each frame is discretely accessible. It's also our belief through experience that there is no better way to capture high motion scenes from such a portable solution.

DTE: Direct to edit is a video recording system that takes the digital or analog signal from a camera and writes it to a hard disk or solid state memory card in a format suitable for importing in to a non-linear editing package.

Quicktime: Developed by Apple Inc. it is basically a file format widely used in the professional world of video production and editing. Quicktime files are PC and Mac compatible and most common editing software suites support it. It's a great format to work with if you intend to make broadcast quality footage and you want precision editing abilities.
