The latest batch of the MiniDVR2 has been upgraded to record at 720 x 576 resolution 25fps. It means the video quality is even better than before not to mention the only head camera system on the market under £200 to achieve it. Ok, we've been sent some pretty horific car crash videos from the RoadHawk in car black box recorder that we can't really make public but this one is a little different. This RH-1 owner got his car back from a local garage only to find they had been driving it at over 125mph! 16/09/09 Peugeot Rally Car Video from ContourHD. Every so often we get sent some really nice quality video and this is a fantastic clip from the ContourHD supplied by us to Crown House Media who absolutely love the camera! We think this is the first time a high definition helmet camera has been used in a rally car like this. Check out their video from IRC in Spain last weekend. What this means is that the camera can cope with very dark and very light contrast ratios better than anything else on the market. So now you can get a perfect wide angle shot inside your car whilst maintaining a perfectly in focus image of what's going on outside. 11/6/09 New Cable for the HQR-C2 twin PiP DVR.
We've had a special cable produced for the HQR-C2 twin camera system which goes direct from the DVR to our bullet cameras using our own waterproof connectors. This cable also provides a 3.5mm jack for external audio input. This makes the HQR-C2 the tidiest PiP twin bullet camera kit in the world! 27/5/09 New Cycling video helmet camera footage shot with the MD80s.
We were sent this footage from one of our friendly customers at Green Jersey Films. This really does demonstrate what can be done with a sub £100.00 helmet camera. The feedback was that they never expected such good quality video from a camera about the size of your thumb. The cyclist hardly knew he was wearing it!

25/4/09 Gadget Show LIVE!
We'd just like to say a big hello and thanks to all who came to see us at the Gadget Show LIVE last week. We had a great time talking to you and demonstrating the latest in wearable video equipment. Thanks also to RAGE buggies and the chaps from Predator technologies showing off their VX360 waterproof head camera. The feedback we had was awesome and it was really cool to have the world's smallest camcorder on the stand too. 20/3/09 Latest firmware for the HQR2 Digital video recorder. We highly recommend downloading and installing the latest firmware for the HQR2. Amongst other features this latest firmware adds progressive scan recording which makes viewing your video on a progressive scan monitor such as a PC screen or LCD tv much nicer. "Sports mode" is also now available which increases video quality substantially when filming high motion video. There's also a setting for recording on power up. When the unit detects and external 12v power supply such as your car's ignition it will turn on and start recording so you'll never have to remember to hit that record button again! The firmware and new desktop PC software is available from here HQR-2 digital video recorder firmware.

This is an incredible bit of kit with video quality higher than any other helmet camera system on the market today. 21/11/08 New HQR1 Digital video recorder. This is a superb new digital video recorder. Pocket sized and powered by a li-poly battery which will power itself plus a bullet camera for well over 3 hours. The new version of the HQR1 can record in either mpeg2 or mpeg4 and provides full D1 video quality 720 x 576 resolution at 25fps. 11/11/08 POV.1 Upgrade available. Vio have now released an update for the POV.1 which allows you to use SD cards up to 32gb in size.
8/11/08 New HQ camera cabling system. We have re-designed our cabling system for our HQ cameras. All of these cameras now come with a short 30cm fly cable from the camera ending in a waterproof 4 pin connector. You will now get a 1m extension cable and a DC and Phono connector cable to go on the end of this. Extension cables in 1m, 2m, 5m and 10m lengths are available and you can connect any combination of these together up to 40m without losing video quality. 21/10/08 New Stuff!! We have a funky new cable designed in house in response to many requests from our customers. The cable is a 12v to 5v regulated supply and outputs to a female USB socket. This means you can plug any USB device into any 12v supply from your car or bike. You can also use this cable with our hard wiring kits and DC power splitter to power more than one device such as a camera and a USB powered recorder (miniDVR1) The new 12v to 5v cable is also great for hard wiring USB devices to motorbikes (sat navs etc) Check out the new cable here.

We have two new extremely small pinhole cameras with built-in recorders available. The DS2 records at 640x480 resolution on to a MicroSD card. This one makes an excellent drivesafe camera. The DS3 is the smallest video camera in the world. Small enough to fit inside a packet of chewing gum. 20/04/08 DogCam article in ZERB magazine. When Momin Javaid (guest editor) asked us to write an article about bullet cameras for Zerb magazine we were only too happy to oblige. Looking for a great way to mount your bullet camera to the inside of your windscreen pointing outwards? This is a very high quality CNC alloy mount specifically machined to fit our HQ1 bullet camera. If you can't find what you're looking for then please let us know and we will see if we can design something to suit your requirements. 07/04/08 Neutral density lens filter packs back in stock. All cameras have a hard time when faced with direct sunlight. It's not always possible to avoid this with a head or vehicle mounted camera. You might find your video suffers from glare and also image smear. You can reduce these effects by fitting an ND lens filter to your camera which will dramatically improve the quality of your video. If you're planning to film in sunny conditions or even in the snow, we really recommend using a filter kit. Each kit is supplied with a special tool for fitting the filter to your camera. 12/03/08 New camera mount.

Our favourite bits are the cameras and the digital video recorders but sometimes a non electrical item comes along that we really like and we have it right here. Using our HQ1 cameras, they reported to us how impressed they were even in very low light conditions and with all the water around. 24/06/07 Battery packs We've had our own battery packs built for us. In fact, we've had loads of them built and so we've managed to lower the price! Now you can get a 2000mah ni-mh battery with UK mains charger for just £30.00. We highly recommend using a battery pack, it will make life a lot simpler when using bullet camera equipment. The 2000mah battery pack will power the average bullet camera for over 7 hours. You can also use it to power a lot of other 12v devices on our site. This weekend we have been at the Auto sport trade show in Birmingham helping to do some filming for the Zapcat team. Zapcats do between 50 and 60mph skipping along the top of the water. When they change direction, they don't slow down!

On the 21st of November 2006 Rory Sweet, Rupert Longsdon, Henry Cookson and Paul Landry will embark on a 1100 mile journey across the Antarctic and plan to "kite ski" 900m over the high Antarctic plateau. We get asked a lot if our kits are any good for skiing or snowboarding. The short answer is yes! In particular our 520 Pro camera and Pro Zoom cameras are extremely efficient at filming in bright conditions. The Sony CCD chip inside these cameras have excellent reaction times to changing light conditions. Hungerpain.net have been using our Pro 550 Zoom camera in their video productions in association with whitelines snow board magazine. You can have a sneak preview of their videos here. Their production will be available in November's issue of white lines. Sam also made our DogCam in Japan video for us with a Pro 480 camera. 03/10/06 Camera extension cables. Our cameras come with a 2 metre cable. The Pro Zoom camera has a 2.5 metre cable. We have a limited stock of HC30e and HC32e camcorders from Sony. These two little beauties make superb recording devices for your helmet camera kit. We've had our quad processor upgraded with PiP capability. This allows you to film from more than one camera at a time. You can have a forward facing camera at full screen and up to two more cameras in PiP mode on the same screen at full frame rate at the same time. For a forward and rear facing camera set up you can digitally "mirror" the rear facing camera which looks much more professional and logical to the eye. The best thing is the price remains £79.99 for the improved quad processor. 26/08/06 Video added. This is a short video from a plane ride in a Robin 2160. All DogCam bullet cameras now come with a vinyl sticker in the form of a red arrow so you can easily position your camera the right way up. Quite frankly, we're gutted we didn't think of this sooner.
