if you're in a car or on a bike, the chasecam pdr100 module makes the perfect replacement for a miniDV camcorder.

It's solid state which means no moving parts, the video is stored electronically on to a CF flash card. Up to 16gb cards can be used that can store over 120 minutes of DVD quality footage with a bitrate of over 8000kb/s 720x576 resolution. There are several video settings that allow you to store around 100 hours on a 16gb card at a lower quality.

The file format used is mpeg2. This means you can take the raw footage from the pdr100 and import it directly to most video editing software packages. Burning your video to DVD has never been easier.

Other functions of the pdr100 include a built-in mic with gain and level controls. You can add an external stereo mic as an option.

The PDR comes with the cables required to connect to any of our cameras and also provide power so no need for an extra power pack. It can be powered by 4 x AA internal batteries or any 12v supply.

Possibly this units greatest feature is it's LANC compatibility. You can keep the PDR100 stored away and remote control it with any LANC remote. The LANC remote will provide feedback on the status of the digital recorder.

When using the chasecam PDR100 we recommend inserting batteries as a backup. So if your external power supply is cut, you won't lose any video. A good set of ni-mh rechargeable batteries will power the chasecam for over 2 hours whilst powering an external camera.

You will need a good CF flash card to make the most of the high bitrate recording quality of the PDR. 45x or better. If you purchase the this device from us with a CF flash card, we will make sure the card supplied is fully compatible with this digital recorder.
