XM-DVR Pro

DogCam are now dealers of the ultra high quality digital video recorder from Datatoys.

This is quite simply THE highest quality solid digital video recorder on the market to date. The XM-DVR pro has been specifically designed for in car use but could also be used in other vehicles including bikes. It's also a preferred system for light aircfraft.

XM-DVR Pro is encased in an aluminum casing and is the most rugged recorder we have found. It records in MPEG2 format and has an outstanding video encoding bit rate of 10mb/s. Not only does it record in full 720 x 576 full PAL resolution but it can do this from two cameras at the same time! That's two individual video streams both at 720 x 576 and both at 10mb/s.

If you have two cameras connected to this recorder then you will end up with two video files on the CF cards which can be played in windows or imported into all current video editing programs.

The only other way to achieve recording from two cameras using other digital video recorders is to have one for each camera. Not so with the XM-DVR Pro.

This recorder has an advanced interlacing and combing filter so playing back the video direct on your computer or back to any TV or monitor has never looked better.

The XM DVR Pro can take two compact flash cards up to 16gb each giving a total of 32gb of solid state storage space.

A single 16gb CF card will hold about 4 hours at full quality from one camera. Add a second camera and this will reduce the storage space by 50%.

Unlike most other digital recorders available the XM-Pro does not have a file size limit. So video files can be much longer than the standard 4gb allowed on other devices.

The connections on the XM-DVR pro are also much more advanced. It uses a DVI connector and is supplied with a DVI break-out cable provides more reliable connectivity.
