Versa Electronics enters fast-growing P.O.V. camera market to bring manufacturing experience, operational expertise, and new distribution channels to V.I.O. cameras.
Extreme Technologies, LLC acquired certain assets of V.I.O. Inc. and named Kevin Johnsrud President and CEO. Extreme Technologies is a union of the technology of V.I.O., an industry-leading P.O.V. camera innovator, with the manufacturing and distribution of Versa Electronics, an advanced electronics manufacturer and OEM supplier of outdoor electronics products.
Johnsrud, an electronics industry veteran, expressed enthusiasm for V.I.O.’s opportunities, saying, “The P.O.V. market is fast-growing in both consumer electronics and industrial markets. People want to record and share their experiences, and as businesses expand their use of video, there are endless commercial applications for P.O.V. cameras.”
Craig Mattson, CTO at V.I.O., is also excited about the new partnership, saying that “Versa Electronics’ expertise in manufacturing and retail distribution are fantastic new capacities for V.I.O., and they’ll enable us to expand our reputation for excellence while accelerating exciting new products to market.”
V.I.O.’s flagship product is the POV.HD, a ruggedized, high-quality 1080p video camera designed for use in hands-free or vehicle-mounted applications. Extreme Technologies will continue to develop, market, and sell products, including the POV.HD, under the V.I.O. brand.

Commenting on an old post, but: I’m wondering what’s going on with VIO. They haven’t updated their product, nor made any announcements for ages. It feels like their competition is meanwhile racing past them. Maybe they have something really big cooking?
