Lawmate DV500 / PV500
portable digital video recording system.

DV-500

The DV-500 is the smallest mp4 portable surveillance recorder available on the market. Small enough to fit inside a packet of cigarettes. Simple to use with it's one touch record facility. It records on to readily available SD memory cards so there are no moving parts to worry about. Time and date watermarked for security and prosecution purposes.

This is a high resolution 640x480 24fps digital video recorder (DVR). It has been very popular with motorcycle mounted patrols and covert surveillance outfits due to it's small size and solid state architecture.

Can supply power to the cameras on this page so no extra power supplies are required. It can take up to a 16Gb SD card which can hold around 15 hours of high quality footage.

Video is easily viewable: Can be connected to a standard tv or monitor. Can be connected to any computer with the USB cable supplied. Footage can be reviewed on it's own built-in screen.

NEW! Each DV-500 is now supplied with a wired remote control with LED indicator to start and stop recording without having to access the device.

Friendly advice from us:

To get the best from this portable surveillance solid state recorder we advise using medium quality mode. The resolution will drop to 640x480 but the frame rate will be 24fps which is much more important when filming high motion. To change the quality setting, go to video record so you can see the picture from the camera on the screen. Press the setup button and change to MED. You can also turn the frame counter and time/date stamp off from this menu.

This wired remote is now included with all DV500's sold by us. You can now purchase a spare here.

Plug this in to the bottom of the dv500. Put the side switch to "REC". Slide the button on the remote and the DV500 will power up and start recording within 5 seconds.

The pv800 and the dv500 digital video recorders are supplied with a UK mains battery charger. The charging is done by plugging the recorder in to a mains wall socket.

This device allows you to quick charge your batteries externally. The dv500 and pv800 come with 2 batteries so you can charge one whilst using the other.

You can also use this charger with the car power adapter below to charge batteries from your car cig. lighter socket.

Open the frame and insert the DV500 in to this battery pack for over 5 hours record time. Also provides greater protection for your DV500. A belt holder is supplied as is a new cable which can provide 12v to your bullet camera so no need to carry 2 power packs around with you! This battery is charged whilst connected to the DV500. It cannot be charged with the external battery charger above.

Power both the camera and the recorder from your own 12v battery. Ideally, this should be connected to the fuse box or direct to the battery if you use an in-line fuse. Use the smallest fuse you can get, no more than a 5 amp.
