720 x 576 h.264 Video Recorder

This digital recorder is the smallest h.264 digital video recorder on the market. It has been specifically designed for the job of recording from bullet cameras and mini spy cameras.

This unit records at full D1 resolution 720 x 576 at 25fps. At full quality the DVX records at 2.5mb/s. Because of the h.264 codec this is the equivalent to about 5mb/s on any other recorder. The only other system that can better this is the HQR-2 kit.

The DVX records video on to solid state SD cards up to 32gb in size. If that wasn't enough, you can connect a USB hard disk or thumb drive to the DVX and record for days on end. It uses just over 1gb for every hour of video.

You can also easily transfer your videos stored on the SD card to and from your USB hard disk or computer. The 2.5inch TFT screen is nice and clear and can also be used for playing back the footage you have recorded. Cables are supplied for connecting to your TV for playback.

A 32gb card will hold over 24 hours of very high quality video. You can connect this recorder to any bullet camera or other video source.

It has a built-in microphone with variable gain control adjustable via the on screen menu system. It also supports A/V input for connection to other cameras and audio devices such as intercom systems.

The DVX has an extremely easy to use menu driven interface with lots of flexible features such as loop record and time/date stamping.

Powering the DVX is a high capacity 4000mah Li-ion Polymer battery which can provide 12v to your camera and has been tested for over 4 hours when using our HQ2 bullet camera.

The camera connection on the DVX is the best we have ever seen using a military grade push fit connector providing awesome reliability and fast connect/disconnect.

A single slider switch is provided for one touch recording from off.

Linux driven system so you can expect software updates in the future that will add extra features and useability.

Important note:
The DVX uses a h.264 codec that media players won't normally play. To play the video from this recorder you will need to download a free video player called VLC which we highly recommend anyway. www.videolan.org
This works on both PC's and Macs.

To edit video from the DVX.

For the time being you will almost certainly have to convert the video before you start editing it in your edit suite software.
We have found that xilisoft's converter works really well and with no loss of video quality. This works well on a PC but we need more feedback from Mac users about which conversion software works on Mac OS.

Audio:
The DVX has a built-in mic which works very well and has adjustable gain control in the menu system. It also has an a/v input socket so you can connect a line in audio source such as a intercom or a pre-amped microphone. You can also use this input for recording from other video sources such as your DVD or TV.

DVX 4000mah Spare battery

This is a high capacity li-ion polymer battery takes about 2 hours for a full charge. It will power the DVX and record from the HQ2 bullet camera for over 4 hours.

One of these batteries is already supplied with the DVX so you can purchase as many of these spares as you require.

Protective DVX Pouch

This padded velcro pouch will provide extra protection for your DVX recorder. It has velcro straps at the rear that can be used around a belt and alse makes an excellent way to secure this recorder to a roll cage.

Hard wiring Regulator kit

Use this 12v reg to connect this recorder directly to any 24v to 12v power supply. Ideal for hardwiring your camera kit in to your car or bike. Supplied with a 12v to 5v USB adapter.
