What else will you need?

Your Cables:

These kits are supplied with 1m extension cables from the recorder to the camera making the overall length of the cable around 1.5m long. You can use the kit without the extension cable if you are wearing the HQR1 on your arm. Extra extension cables are available in the accessories below.

Your memory card:

We only sell high speed sandisk CF cards with these kits. You will need at least a card that can support 50x write speed to take advantage of the hqr1's high data rate. Please don not be tempted to buy a cheap one from ebay, there are a lot of fakes going around. If you buy your card elsewhere, make sure they are a reputable company.

Your camera mounts:

Once you have your camera and recorder, you will need to decide how you want to mount your camera. We have a wide range of bullet camera mounts available. The most common camera mounts we sell are either clamp mounts or suction mounts.

Your screen:

The HQR1 does not have a screen built-in but it does have a video output for connecting a screen. The HQR recorders do not support playback.
You can connect a small TFT screen to the HQR-1 output for aligning your camera. You can choose to leave this in place or simply remove the screen once you are ready to start recording from your bullet camera.

1m Extension cable for HQ bullet camera

Our new range of extension cables available for the Sony HQ bullet cameras. These all have waterproof connectors that will work down to 3m of water. You can connect as many of these cables together in any combination up to a length of 50m without losing video quality.

Phono and DC power cable for HQ camera

We supply this cable with all of our HQ bullet cameras. You can purchase this as a spare.

Simply put this connector of the end of any of the extension cables above to give you standard RCA phono and DC input and outputs.

5 Inch Field and Vehicle Monitor

This 5" TFT Monitor has one of the brightest screens we have found. A high quality piece of hardware that can accept any composite video input. Ideal for use with digital video recorders that don't have built-in screens such as the PDR100 or XM-DVR Pro and HQR1 recorder.

Input connections are BNC and we will also supply BNC to RCA-Phono adapters.

Can easily be dash mounted with it's adjustable stand. Powered by 12v.

Comes with a protective carry case that doubles as a screen shroud for perfect viewing on bright, sunny days. The back of this bag has a velcro belt strap that can be used to secure the monitor to a roll bar or cage.

In the back of the carry pouch is a battery holder so you can use AA batteries to power the screen. No need for an external battery pack at all.

12v car cigarette lighter regulator

Power the HQR1 from your car's accessory plug socket. Set to 12v +ive center pin. You can also use this to power multiple 12v devices or extra cameras using a DC splitter cable below.

12v hard wired regulator

Use to hard wire your HQR-1 to your bike or car's 12v system. Eliminates visual feedback and interference from the engine. Use with the DC power more than one device.

You should connect this to a small fuse for added protection.

8000mah battery pack

A high powered battery pack for powering the HQR-1 out in the field. Will add a further 5 hours record time to the HQR recorder.

Comes with UK mains fast charger.

New Firmware version 20 - 04 - 09

Download and extract the ZIP file to a blank CF card.
Make sure the HQ recorder is plugged in to the mains or has a full charge.
Turn the HQ recorder on with the card inserted and the system will auto-update.
