LANC Remote controller

Remote control of start/stop recording and power on/off

This remote makes using the HQR-2 recorder so simple. One button does it all with an LED to tell you what the recorder is doing.

Comes with a 1m cable which can easily be extended up to 10m.

External Stereo Microphone

The HQR-2 has a built-in mono mic (in the recorder). If you want external stereo audio for higher quality sound recording then this mic plugs directly in to the audio input jack of the HQR-2.

Supplied with a small crocodile clip for securing the mic in place.
Gain control is still functional in the menu system of the HQR-2 when using this microphone.

Hard wiring Regulator

Use this 12v reg to connect this recorder directly to any 24v to 12v power supply. Ideal for hardwiring your camera kit in to your car or bike. Includes adapter to fit HQR recorders.

We highly recommend providing external power to this system for longer recording times.

Our new range of extension cables available for the Sony HQ bullet cameras. These all have waterproof connectors that will work down to 3m of water. You can connect as many of these cables together in any combination up to a length of 50m without losing video quality.

Additional Lenses For HQ cameras

We fit 3.6mm lenses to our cameras as standard which give a wide angle view of 82 °.

You can easily change the lenses in your camera head for a wider or more narrow angle of view. Generally, the wider angle lenses are better for head mounted or aerial based video. For car and bike video we recommend an 8mm or 12mm lens.

• 2.9mm 103° angle of view. (extra wide angle)
• 3.6mm 82 ° angle of view. (wide angle)
• 6mm 65° angle of view
• 8mm 47° angle of view.
• 12mm 24° angle of view.
• 16mm 15° angle of view.

You will need a precision flat head screwdriver to change the lens on your camera available from most hardware stores.

Questions and Answers:

Will this kit record from both cameras at the same time?

Yes, but it is only one stream. You can choose to record from either camera in full screen mode or inset the picture from one camera in to the other (PiP) and you can change this in real time on the fly as you are recording using the IR remote controller supplied.

Can I change the PiP after I've finished recording?

No, what you see on the screen during recording is what you get when you play the video back. This can't be changed after you have finished recording.

Can I view the video on the screen?

The built-in colour TFT screen is used for positioning the cameras only. The HQR2 and HQR-C2 are digital recorders only and do not support playback. You will be able to set the PiP and move it around using the built-in screen before and during recording.

Can I use this on a PC or MAC?

Yes, in mpeg4 mode you will be able to play the video back on both PC and MAC platforms. The software supplied for converting Mpeg2 video is PC only. All settings can be changed using the on screen menu and so the software is only required if recording in Mpeg2 mode.

What happens if my external power supply is lost during recording?

Your video will not be affected. The HQR will fall back on it's battery back up so you can safely save your video files before turning the unit off.

What is "Sports Mode"?

Sports mode is an advanced encoding feature which greatly improves video quality during high motion filming. It is highly recommended to use Sports mode for most filming applications.
