This is the long awaited update to the already extremely popular MiniDVR h720 device.

Using the same high resolution Sony CCD based HQ5 Bullet camera but with tweaked lens filters to enhance colour and sharpness all round.

The MiniDVR 3 is the 3rd generation of bullet cameras from this range and uses the very latest Zorro 9 chipset for encoding. This gives a higher bitrate up to 13mb/s resulting in better video quality than ever before. We reckon the video quality is around 25% better than the previous h720 model.

The Zorro 9's menu system is now much smoother and nicer to navigate around. In short, this is the highest quality bullet camera on the market today and what's more...we've managed to buy more for less money than the last version and so we're passing on the savings to you! To put this in to perspective, a bullet camera kit giving this kind of video quality a year ago would have cost you over £500!

The bullet cameras supplied with these systems are based on the HQ2 bullet cameras . It is just 19mm in dia and 55mm long. The HQ5 550tvl camera has a high speed reaction time to changing light conditions. The camera is fitted with a wide angled 3.6mm lens which can be changed to give different angles of view if required. It will also outperform any other camera system, including the HD cameras in low light conditions by a very long way.

These helmet cameras are also fitted with a 1/4" thread on the rear so it can be used with any camera mount available. An external microphone is integrated in to the cable of the camera.

As with the previous model you still get the "LANC" remote controller which plugs in to the recorder part. You can turn the unit on/off and start/stop recording with the remote either on your wrist or hanging from a jacket pocket. This means you can keep the recorder part tucked safely out of the way.

We supply 2 x 1400mAh rechargeable batteries with each system which will give you at least 2 hours record time each. You get an external battery charger that allows you to charge both batteries at the same time.

Also supplied with the MiniDVR 3 is a cigarette lighter adapter that can be used to either charge the batteries in the recorder or to power it permanently. The system can be put in "CAR MODE" which detects when you have powered up the recorder from your vehicle. At this point it will turn on and start recording automatically.

This is an ideal little bullet camera suitable for just about any activity; Motorsports, Skiing or Cycling etc. Various camera mounts are included with the kit, please click the thumbnail images to the right to see them.

The bullet camera part of this kit is fully waterproof. This is the system we would choose for filming our ski trip this year!

UPDATE: This is the latest version of the MiniDVR3 which already has the variable audio in gain control software installed. This is important if you want to get good quality audio when recording in a loud environment.
