Snow head camera systems

For skiers and snowboarders who are looking for a complete two part helmet camera solution with a high resolution recording device. This is our 2008 season specialist snow package put together to suit your filming requirements.

When filming in the snow, you have a lot of light bouncing around and entering the camera's CCD. This camera has been designed to handle this by sending extra information to the DSP. The POV.1 performs really well in these conditions and because it uses a digital camera head, it doesn't suffer from CCD smear when faced with direct sunlight.

The Camera

The very latest in CMOS technology from VIO ensures this camera behaves perfectly giving good video quality in all conditions. It's a fully sealed unit that is waterproof down to about 2m of water. The lens will not mist up in extreme temps which cheaper units are prone to. This camera also has superb low light capability.

The Recorder

The solid state recorder has no moving parts and can withstand extreme temperatures and conditions without causing any problems.

It will store just under an hour of video on the 1gb SD card (supplied) or you can use up to a 2gb card for longer record times. It records at 720x480 max which gives a slightly widescreen aspect ratio.

Using a good set of four AA rechargeables you should get around 3 - 4 hours use depending on temperature conditions.

The built-in screen makes it easy to set up your camera and review your videos.

The Camera mounts

The camera mounts included with the kits on this page give two unique options for mounting your helmet cam to your head, helmet or goggles. The universal helmet camera mount comes with sticky backed velcro for sticking directly to your helmet. The goggle mount is used in conjunction with the universal helmet camera mount to secure your cam to your goggle strap. If you prefer not to wear a helmet or goggles then you can purchase a headstrap mount for just £7.50

Wireless remote controller

Now you can keep your recorder safely tucked away and remotely start and stop recording when you want to. The wired remote in this package has nice big buttons that can easily be operated with gloves on and is waterproof .

You can also access loop mode with this remote. In loop mode the unit is always recording but never storing your video. Until you press on the remote at which point it will save the video including a set amount of time before you trigger it.
